Lots of Exciting new shipments arriving this week

We have imports landing from Congo, Colombia, Indonesia, Europe and Singapore

We are expecting some really interesting fish such as Pygmy Glass goby, WILD corydoras tukano, channa bleheri and many more. So it looks to be a great week for it all these fish will go straight into Quarantine and should be ready over the next week or so, as usual all imports need a good rest as travelling long distances is definitely a major stress factor this means you get well rested fish that hopefully will give you no issues.

Fish Room 2/3

This week a few fish also come out of Quarantine like some Rinodoras sp which has been so far unidentified, when in qt we usually leave the fish to it and try not to disturb too much, so it will be fun figuring out what they are! Aswell as the Rinodoras we also have some more Irwini cats  (Megalodoras uranoscopus) available also known as the giant Raphael catfish these are really out of this world if you have a decent sized tank. Im also due some wild type livebearers this week Limia perugiae and some others, we've been working really hard on our Kh in the shop and let me tell you this has been no easy task but we are getting into the habit of 'take water out add buffer test n refill' if you have read any of our social media posts you'll find it's been coming out the tap at 0 KH which can cause major issues like crashing your cycle as it uses KH to convert ammonia, the problem is wide spread in central Scotland at the moment im realising and i have contacted Scottish Water in the hopes something can be done and soon!!!....but for now we are manually buffering the water which means monitoring over 250 tanks and that's no easy task, one of the staff has worked all day and night for the last 4 nights just aswell they are a total fish geek and generally enjoy doing the work. It's also nice to report our really loved up pair of firemouths have finally went to a nice home after laying their last clutch of eggs which us 🥰 I hope they are as successful for their new owner as they were for us, nothing nicer than watching a cichlid have their young. I hope everyone has a lovely week and the Scottish kids enjoy their return to school

Keep an eye on our social media this week for the newbies arriving 😁

Thanks

D
